Excerpt from Ravynwyng Chronicles Volume 1: The Beginning
“Come on, Nickie, answer the goddamn phone!” Lyta fumed as she tried once again reach Nicole. “Any luck reaching Jennie?”
Ravyn shook her head. “Goes to voicemail. Shouldn’t they be back by now?”
“They should’ve been back a half-hour ago. If they were going to be late or stopping somewhere, Nicole would’ve called.” She threw the phone on the sofa.
Ravyn ended her call. “What do we do?”
“We give them five more minutes to either come home or call. If we hear nothing, we drive out to where they were running.” Lyta grabbed her phone and stuck it in her pocket. She strapped her .38 to her right ankle.
Ravyn watched her before she hurried to change into a pair of jeans. In her office, she grabbed her .38 and the ankle holster. “Let’s go now. I have a bad feeling.”
