Who are we? We are your sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers, veterans, and former neighbors. You avert your eyes when you pass us on the street, or look down your nose when you see us huddled in a doorway to escape the weather.
We come from all walks of life. Some are alcoholics or substance abusers; others suffer from mental illness while others have hit hard times financially. It doesn’t matter what brought us to this current state; all we ask is not to be ignored or dismissed out of hand.
We didn’t ask for this. Remember, this could easily happen to you or a member of your family.
