Self-Publishing Tip — 11

If you are planning to publish your book, avoid using Vanity Presses at all costs. Their only concern is to make money for themselves, not the author. They get all the money they need from people who want to see their work in print. They do not  help to market your published work or get it into book stores. They offer package deals, yet still find ways to bilk an author out of more money. The biggest offender in the world of Vanity Press is Author Solutions. They own or operate vanity imprints AuthorHouse, DellArte, iUniverse, Trafford Publishing, West Bow, and Xlibris No matter how desperate you are to see your work published, you can do it yourself with little to no expense. Do your research  before you decide to go through a company to publish your work. A great site to check out is Preditors and Editors.
