I’ve been thinking about how one properly infodumps in a story. Which way is the right way? How much is too much? How many times should one do a proper infodump? Then I realised that the answer is pretty much obvious.

Now I should probably just clarify what infodumping is before we go further. Infodumping is the act of, well, dumping a boatload of information on the reader for the purpose of exposition, backstory, or a number of other things. This is considered by most writers to be bad writing and it’s clear to see why.
